Riyadh, 23 May 2021: The Board of Directors of the Saudi EXIM Bank, Chaired by the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources H.E. Mr. Bandar Alkhorayef, announced the appointment of H.E. Eng. Saad Alkhalb as the new CEO of the bank, effective 11 Shawal 1442 corresponding to 23 May 2021 .
H.E. Alkhalb expressed his appreciation and commitment to the Board of Directors and H.E. Alkhorayef, to lead Saudi EXIM bank to enrich the Saudi industry and export systems and enable it to play its role in realizing the Saudi vision 2030, which aims to increase the contribution of non-oil Saudi exports to 50% of total value of Non-Oil GDP.
The appointed CEO joins the Saudi EXIM Bank, with wealth of experience that is uniquely relevant to Leading EXIM bank and fulfil its strategy. He has over 25 years of experience in the private sector inside KSA and abroad with leading global organizations in the fields of banking services, and manufacturing. Furthermore, he worked in the public sector where he served as the Vice Minister of Transport and more recently as the President of the Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI). He has a proven track record of exceptional achievements in optimizing operational and financial performance in both sectors. Under his leadership, the Saudi Ports Authority witnessed significant performance improvement proven by globally tracked indexes and became among the top five ranked globally in container handling.
H.E. Alkhalb holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals and has attended several advanced training programs in the fields of strategic planning, financial management, bank credit, and corporate financing.
This appointment comes as part of the bank’s commitment to attract top international and national leaders, moving into the next phase of its strategy and plays a more proactive role in enabling Saudi Exports and launching a range of quality services and products, including insurance, direct and indirect financing, to support exporters and importers of Saudi products and services. In addition to the development of strategic partnerships with key stakeholders to drive the transformation towards a more diversified economy.
